I walked down the street a couple of days ago, taking a break from working in the studio.  I hadn’t walked far before I passed a beautiful rose-bush which was sending out a sweet, spicy fragrance.  I had to “stop and smell the roses,” and then I came back to paint them!  It was a busy day, and I had only a half an hour before I had to leave, but I painted the rose and several of the leaves.  This morning, about the same time of day, I went back to this bush and picked out some more of the foliage to finish the picture.
