We’re told to “paint what we know” and often, for me, that may be something from my kitchen. This time it’s blueberry pie.
Blueberry Pie, watercolor, 8″ x 10″
Now my husband likes pie, especially apple, peach, or blueberry pie. And he gets dismayed when he sees a pie go from the kitchen into my studio (as a painting subject) instead of onto his plate! This time I managed to finish baking the pie in time to get an initial sketch done before we wanted to eat it, so I got to paint my pie and eat it, too.
What’s your favorite kind of pie?
How would you respond if you saw it being carried away (temporarily) to “pose” for its portrait?

Oh, this is beautiful! And I’m sure absolutely delicious. I love almost any kind of pie — apple, cherry, pecan, blueberry, peach, strawberry, pineapple, chocolate, banana creme, coconut creme, and even egg custard and strawberry/rhubarb (which I don’t see a lot of around my home area.)
Oooops: I forgot lemon and key lime. I probably should say that I don’t really enjoy blackberry, but only because of all the tiny seeds.
I love blueberry pie!
And cherry.
And peach.
And pecan.
I do love pie 🙂
I love eating your art projects!
Cherry is my favorite, but we also love a recipe we call “Polly’s Apple Pie” made with real butter, too much sugar, and baking it 90 minutes, so it caramelizes a bit. Really not good for us, but…
Love the painting, too, but prefer the pie, itself! 🙂
