Emerald Pools Trail, watercolor, 7″ x 5″

In Zion National Park, there is a beautiful set of hiking trails, the Emerald Pools Trails. The Lower Trail is an easy hike and wanders down into a cavern. The path leads one under the stream, which falls over the lip of a cliff above and into a pool.  The mist is cooling and sparkles in the sun.  I was mesmerized by the sunlight shining through the water and also making the the rock wall glow.

This painting was done in response to the World Watercolor Month prompt: Flow.
